G. D. Vajra Wine Dinner
TUESDAY JULY 21 AT 6:30 SHARP. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED AND SPACE IS LIMITED.
In the tiny hamlet of Vergne, the highest village in the commune of Barolo, Aldo Vajra and his wife Milena have been working in the vineyards of Aldo’s father Giuseppe Domenico since the early 1970’s. Here the vines ripen later and are subject to more random hailstorms than other parts of the Langhe. This often means more hard work in the vineyards. It is this hard work, when willing to do it, which produces some of the most interesting wines in the Langhe. The Barolo’s in particular have always been seen as very distinctive and whose primary stylistic signature is their aromatic elegance with youthful aromas, prominent acidity and generous fruit. The Vajra’s are passionate, dedicated winemakers who always see the human side of the equation in their profession. In their modern winery they make some the best, traditionally styled wines in Barolo.
The cost of the 4-course dinner is $75 per person excluding tax and gratuity.
